REAL PIRATES
GL would really dig this one.
Interesting collection of items collected from the wreckage of a Pirate ship found off of Cape Cod and the story behind it.
If you are into history, you'll be interested as it goes into detail of pirates in general, what they did and what happened to them.
Coins, cannons, weapons, ammo, and the story about them all. Even the bell from the ship. They even go into detail about how the recover certain items that are still incased in concretions.
It was an interesting afternoon (I went yesterday)
Check it out if you get the chance,

Cool. The Titanic exhibit was really something too. I would love ot find a shipwreck. But I sure as hell wouldn't publicize it. I would recover what I could and keep the feds' greedy hands away from taxing it...

The story behind the pirates was just as interesting.
Who they attacked, why they attacked and how they did it...
Full treasure chest of Booty (no not that kind, although that would be pretty )
Coins from france, spain and all over...
pretty amazing stuff

If you do go Lew, for three bucks more you can check out one of the Omnimax films as well.
I caught the one about the Mars landers but there is another one about ancient sea creatures as well.

I may try to go see the Pirates exhibit. I have always been fascinated by the claims made when a treasure hunter hits the jackpot. I mean, think about it- Spanish soldiers steal gold from the Indians and load it onto their ship, which sinks in a storm. It goes undiscovered for 400 years, and then John Q. Treasurehunter discovers it. Then the next thing you know, here comes the government of Spain, laying claim to something they stole in the first place.
And the pirates were even better. They stole from everyone, and then stole from each other. I asked an old seadog in New Orleans one time what was the difference between a pirate and a privateer. He said the privateer is a pirate who gets paid to be a pirate.
